At COSTA NOVA we are committed to making stoneware more sustainable. Ecogres® (ecogres) is a registered trademark belonging to COSTA NOVA. Products under this label are guaranteed to be made of non-hazardous recycled materials, derived from ceramic surplus and other additives. A new raw material, completely eco-friendly.

The production process
The process - collect and recycle
The ecogres production process begins with the collection of clay waste from our factory, which is then combined with other materials, including waste materials from other industries, to stabilize the final composition.
Approximately 25% of all clay purchased from external suppliers is recycled clay.
Ultimately, ecogres comprises 99% recycled material, resulting in a homogeneous and flexible clay body ready to be (re)used in our production line. The entire process takes place within our factories, contributing to the reduction of our carbon footprint.

COSTA NOVA views its products and operations as part of a long life cycle and is dedicated to enhancing community and global well-being.
In this commitment to sustainability, COSTA NOVA has pioneered a new raw material by collecting, recycling, and reusing clays and glazes from its operations, along with other waste materials from neighboring industries. The result is ecogres, a reinvented clay composed of recycled materials and entirely eco-friendly.
The factory
In 2023, COSTA NOVA builds and inaugurates a factory dedicated to the production of ecogres. This factory, considered one of the most sustainable tableware ceramic factories globally, has the capacity to employ 300 people.
